Creating a book unlike any other, the voices of recovering women alcoholics speak out.  Sarah Hafner, a recovering alcoholic herself, has elicited the personal struggles and triumphs of a diverse group of women confronting a disease that afflicts some 10.5 million Americans and directly affects millions more.  This book is also a healing tool for all of us, sufferers of what is ambiguously called “the human condition.

Written in 1992, this was one of few books featuring only recovery stories by women and WFS’s founder, Dr. Jean Kirkpatrick welcomed the opportunity to be interviewed by Sarah and to tell her story.  Long-time WFS member, Denise Mindham also shared her story, along with Marty Mann, the first woman allowed into Alcoholics Anonymous and co-founder of the National Council on Alcoholism.
